Valerie Ward Initiated into Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society

Valerie Ward of Mt. Olive, MS was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.

Ward was chosen based on her superior scholarship and sound character and joins a century-old community of scholars and professionals that includes individuals who have distinguished themselves in positions of leadership and whose careers have been characterized by achievement.

Senior undergraduates shall be in the upper 10 percent of their class in each college or division. Juniors are drawn from the upper 7.5 percent of their class. Graduate and professional students in the upper 10 percent of all candidates for graduate or professional degrees may also be candidates for membership. Also eligible are faculty, administrators, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Founded in 1897 at the University of Maine, Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest, largest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Its chapters are on more than 300 campuses in the United States, Puerto Rico and the Philippines. Each year, approximately 30,000 members are initiated.
