MBL is proud to announce our 2013 PBL State Leadership Conference winners.

Olivia Dyer: Accounting for Professionals- 3rd Place

Brittney Eubanks: Accounting Analysis & Decision Making- 3rd Place

Merry Johnson: Business Law- 1st Place and Public Speaking- 2nd Place

Kelly Ann Taylor: Client Service- 1st Place and Sales Presentation- 1st Place

John Tutor: Financial Concepts- 1st Place

The top two finishers in each event are eligible to compete at the PBL National Leadership Conference that will be held this year in Anaheim, CA June 22-25. The state conference was hosted by Co-Lin Community College in Natchez from Monday February 25 until Wednesday February 27 and was attended by approximately 200 college students from around the state all competing in these and other business-related events.

Dr. Kyle Dempsey, Instructor of Psychology and Thomas Haffey, Instructor of Marketing are the advisors for PBL.

Mississippi University for Women is located in Columbus, MS and has approximately 3,400 students from all across the nation. The MUW Phi Beta Lambda local chapter has a rich philanthropic and competitive history, but it has been inactive for the last few years and has been re-instated as of Fall 2012. Club officers, members, and advisers stay active on and off campus and work to produce a better network amongst the Columbus community, provide hands-on business education for its members, and produce leadership skills for all future endeavors.

Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) student business organization with nearly a quarter million members and advisers in 6,000 chartered high school and college chapters worldwide. Its mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. The association is headquartered in Reston, Virginia outside Washington, DC.
